The Sacrament of Baptism
Celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism at Saint Olaf
“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.”

Baptism Preparation Class
The church requires preparation for parents desiring baptism for their child. This preparation offers them the opportunity to reflect on their understanding of the sacrament of Baptism and to deepen their family’s commitment to a Christian way of life. Saint Olaf will hold the next baptism preparation class for parents and godparents after we have received inquiries. Call the parish office at 801-295-3621 if interested.
Fill out the baptismal registration form and call the office to sign-up before the class. If you will be a godparent, you just need to call the office to sign-up. You MUST sign up so we know to have someone available to teach the class..
Adults
Adults wishing to be baptized or become Catholic should inquire about the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) by contacting Father Andrzej at the church office.
RCIA includes the celebration of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. The initiation of adults is a gradual process that takes place within the community of the faithful.
